Description
Jagermeister is a renowned German herbal liqueur crafted from a secret blend of 56 botanicals, including herbs, fruits, roots, and spices. Developed in 1934 by Wilhelm and Curt Mast, it boasts an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 35% (70 proof in the U.S.) . The liqueur is aged in oak barrels for about a year, allowing its complex flavors to mature.
Jägermeister is characterized by its dark mahogany color and a rich, herbal profile. Tasting notes include licorice, anise, dried orange peel, menthol, cola, and allspice, with a full-bodied, slightly sweet, and complex palate . Traditionally served ice-cold, it is enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a base in various cocktails, such as the Jagerita—a blend of Jägermeister, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice.
